Light and Soft Homemade Pancakes


Makes: 9 cakes
Cooking time: 15 – 20 mins


2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 tbsp sugar
2 cups milk
2 eggs
3 tbsp butter, melted
Oil, for cooking
1 cup maple or pancake syrup, warmed


1.  In a bowl, take eggs and whisk them well. Add milk, melted butter and whisk everything together. Keep aside.
2.  In another bowl mix all of the dry ingredients together –  maida, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the dry mixture, then stir the egg mixture in until the batter is smooth and semi-thick consistency.


1.  Heat a lightly oiled griddle or pan over medium heat.
2.  Pour or scoop batter onto the griddle. Cook until the pancakes are browned on both sides.

Serve hot with warmed maple syrup and enjoy with some fruits on the side.

Make sure the batter is completely smooth without any lumps.
