Mint-Coriander Chutney is a tangy minty chutney made with all greens; fresh mint, coriander leaves and green chilies with a little spice from garlic and tanginess of the lemon juice and chaat masala. It is a simple and quick recipe that tastes great with many Indian snack preparations like vada (dal vada / Batata Vada), samosas, pakoras and many more.
Cooking time: 10 mins
½ cup mint (pudina)
¼ cup cilantro (coriander leaves / kothambir)
1 green chili, medium size
¼ cup coconut, freshly grated
½ tbsp garlic, chopped
½ tsp cumin
½ tbsp lemon juice
½ tsp chaat masala
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp salt, or adjust as per taste
¼ tsp black pepper powder
1. Take all ingredients together in a mixer-grinder. Add to it 1/8 cup warm water and grind everything together.
2. Process to a fine paste, add more water if required to achieve a semi-thick consistency of chutney.
Serve as condiment or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.
Tamarind can be added instead of lemon juice to add acidity.
